Today, it's all about ME!

Yesterday we pulled up a very muddy anchor and motor sailed to Irvington.  The resort is everything is was supposed to be.  It reminds me of a combination of Marsh Harbour, in the Abacos where we stayed a couple of years ago, and Pura Vida in Costa Rica, where I went for a belly dance & yoga retreat.  It has a large sprawling grounds where they grow many vegetables and have a nice herb garden.  There's a pool, croquet, golf, tennis, canoes and paddleboats, plus a kids camp, sailing camps, and a spa.

On the way here, Zachary was at the helm.

Then he helped raise the main sail.

Meanwhile, Evan was happily playing with this trains down below.

A cold front passed through and now it's not so unbearably hot.  It was a very peasant morning.  We arrived shortly before lunch time.  We had lunch and swam at the pool, then it was boat cleaning time.  We scrubbed the boat back to her shiny, pristine condition, inside and out.  I did four loads of laundry.  I'm really not much into cleaning and would prefer to pay someone else to do it for me.  However, that's not really an option here.  I'm not that efficient (I guess since I don't do it that often) so it took a long time and a lot of effort.  I'm glad it's done for the week.

I did some yoga yesterday on the way here.  There's a nice platform aft of the cockpit so I got to do a few poses to stretch out my knotted muscles.  Balance is a challenge while underway, I must say, so I didn't do much that was challenging.  I did do a couple of handstands against the wall in the laundry room, while waiting for laundry.  I got busted by the dock master, however.  I sheepishly came down and stood up as he walked in the tiny space.  My shirt had come up and I was there in all my glory.  He politely pretended not to notice.  I was slightly mortified.

Today, it's all about ME ME ME!  I'm getting a custom 90 minute massage in a couple of hours.  I might try to get a pedicure as well.  The boys are going to play golf on the par 3 course here.  This afternoon I'm going into town in search of groceries.  Ryan and the kids will find something to do around here!  I have yet to find an organic grocery store, but the prospects are looking good today.  There's a shuttle I can take into town, so if all goes well (not impossible) I may be able to restock with very little stress.  A long massage and a solo trip for groceries will make for a relaxing day for me!  And today is all about me, you see.

Tomorrow we are heading to Solomon's Island.  It will be a long long day, probably taking 10-12 hours to get there.  I'm going to need all my zen to keep the children entertained all day.  We''re staying in a marina there for a couple of days, then another sort of long day to Annapolis.
