At last . . . we made it to Solomon's Island. It started out a little rough, 2-4 seas with 13 knots of wind on the nose, but as we turned North we got an angle on the waves and settled in nicely. As we passed the Potomac it settled down completely and we all settled down to read.
Evan played with his trains, as usual. He's talking to me during this picture. Although he looks like he's making a sour face, he isn't. It was a pajama day for both boys.
We got here around 3:00 p.m. We swam in their pool for a while, then I was, mercifully, relieved of Galley duty and we went out to dinner.
Solomon's Island is a neat little place. It has lots of restaurants and a long pier that runs along the water. We took a stroll after dinner and wound up at a ice cream shop. The kids opted for ring pops, as 20 cents each, instead of the $2 ice cream. That was fine by me.
The day turned out just ducky.
Today we are headed to Annapolis. Another long day, we have about 50 miles to go. The captain has started the engine as I type this. I'm dragging a little this morning, probably the beer I had last night. I did find a Bikram Yoga studio in Annapolis and hopefully I can get there for a class this evening. We're casting off now, and first mate duties call.
Hi Melanie, Ryan, Zachary & Evan!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure you're on! Thinking of you from Canada.
Z is getting so big & cute and I haven't seen a pic of E since he was a baby - OMG, he is stunning (if I can say that about a boy?!)
PS...we're looking at condos near Disney to purchase. Will see what happens. If so, I know where you'll be vacationing...with Blake & I!!!
Hugs,
Sandra
Hi Sandra!
ReplyDeleteIf you buy a condo near Disney, you may see more of us than you'd like! We love Disney!! And I'm still hoping one day I can bring the boys to Canada to play with Blake!
